“When your mind goes into neutral and your thoughts flow freely, you tend to feel anxious and alone. Your focus becomes problem solving. To get your mind back into gear, just turn toward me, bringing yourself and your problems into My Presence.”
I read that in my devotional this morning, and it challenged me. During the past few weeks, we have been met with drastically unexpected changes. For someone like me who has a hard time turning my brain off, the daily routine of busyness is a welcome distraction keeping me from facing worries and problems. Before I knew it, I had gotten used to leaning on my own strength to handle daily situations rather than trusting in My True Source. How often do we get so wrapped up in our daily routines, that we forget WHO we’re doing it all for anyways? We were made to worship and adore our Creator! Here we are a few weeks later, in our homes, with a situation bigger than our small human minds can handle. Thankfully, we have a HUGE God who promises in His Word to work EVERYTHING together for His good. What I love about Jesus is that He invites us, so graciously, to course correct. Over the past few weeks, He has helped me to readjust my thinking, and to turn my reliance and dependence on the Maker of Heaven and Earth. Let me remind you, God is NOT surprised by this one bit! He is worthy of being confided in, trusted and praised. As we worship and adore Him, He will continue to fill us with GRATITUDE and FORTITUDE. Turn your eyes upon Jesus again & again & again!
Gratitude: the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.
Fortitude: courage in the midst of adversity.
