FAITH or FEAR? We always have a choice, either to trust God or allow fearful thoughts. It does not depend on what our circumstances are, but many times it’s a fight! Especially with all the panic from this virus.
I’ve been doing a word study, looking up definitions of some names of God and how He is revealed to us. I challenge you to read through them prayerfully and see if your faith isn’t greater as a result, as mine was. We all need reminders and encouragement, especially now!
First of all our God is:
ALMIGHTY – having absolute power over all! Psalm 91:1
And the Lord Jesus is:
Our SAVIOR – the one who delivers from trouble, sin or judgement. 1 John 4:14
Our REDEEMER – who frees or delivers from difficulty, danger or bondage by the payment of a ransom. Isaiah 48:17
Our ROCK – foundation, support, refuge. Psalm 18:1-2
Our REFUGE – shelter or protection from danger or distress. Deuteronomy 33:27
Our FORTRESS – a fortified place, a place of security or survival. Psalm 27:1
Our SHELTER – something that covers or affords protection. Psalm 9:9
Our SHIELD – one that protects or defends. Psalm 3:3
Our SHEPHERD – to guide or guard. Psalm 23:1
Our STRENGTH – support, power to resist force or attack. Psalm 28:7
Our PROVIDER – to furnish, to supply or make available (something wanted or needed). 2 Corinthians . 9:8-10
Our PEACE – a state of tranquility or quiet, freedom from oppressive thoughts or emotions. John 14:27
Our HEALER – to mend, cure, make whole, to restore to health. Psalm 103:3
And God is LOVE!! – the ultimate expression of God’s loyalty, purity and mercy extended toward his people. 1 John 4:16
Our God is ALL this and so much more!
We worship you, Lord. You are so amazing and we praise you for your faithful watch and care over us. Thank you for who you are in us, for us and through us! In Jesus name. Amen!
