As I began my walk this morning I noticed a bird singing quite loud. It was a sweet and happy sound. I thought about how that little bird wasn’t worried about everything that’s been going on.
I remembered what Jesus taught in Matthew 6. He repeatedly said not to worry. Then in verse 26, He said, “Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?” And In verse 33, “Seek the kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”
Some of you may recall this cute little poem from years ago. It’s simple, but gets the point across.
Said the robin to the sparrow, I would really like to know why those anxious human beings rush around and worry so.
Said the sparrow to the robin, Well I think that it must be that they have no Heavenly Father such as cares for you and me.
