Casting All Your Cares

As I was reading some familiar verses in I Peter 5, something fresh stood out to me….In verse 7, “Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you.”  (look up the Amplified version in this, too!)

Then, the very next verse, “Keep a cool head.  Stay alert.  The devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping.  Keep your guard up.  You’re not the only ones plunged into these hard times.  It’s the same with Christians all over the world.  So keep a firm grip on the faith.  The suffering won’t last forever.  It won’t be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ – eternal and glorious plans they are! – will have you put together and on your feet for good.  He gets the last word; yes, He does.” (MSG)  

Normally, I’ve always read those, heard messages preached or teachings on these scriptures separately.  This time, I saw them in a whole new way.  It’s no coincidence that they are listed together.  In context, it’s one message!  They are connected!  

If we can effectively surrender those cares, worries and concerns and give them over to the Lord…it keeps the door closed from the enemies attack!  We “…surrender to God, stand up to the devil and resist him and he will turn and run away from you.” (James 4:7 TPT)

Keep feeding your faith with the Word of God to keep you strong!

Chase fear away and focus on His grace!
